The external auditory canal is lined by hair follicles. Also by glands that produce a waxy oil called cerumen. Wax almost always works its way up to the ear opening. Once there it falls off or is removed by cleaning.

Earwax can build up and block the ear canal. Earwax plugging is one of the most common causes of hearing loss.

In some people, the glands produce more earwax than can be easily removed from the ear. This extra earwax can harden in the ear canal and block the ear, causing compaction. When you try to clean the ear, you can actually push the earwax deeper and block the ear canal. For this reason, inserting objects into the ear to clean it is not recommended.

At Facial Solutions we can help you with this problem, go to cleaning at least once a year.

NASOLARINGOSCOPY

A direct laryngoscopy can also be used for:

• Remove a sample of tissue from the throat for further examination under a microscope (biopsy).

  • Remove an object that is blocking the airway, for example, a marble or coin that has been swallowed.

It is an examination of the back of the throat, which includes the larynx that contains the vocal cords used for speech.

In fiberoptic laryngoscopy (nasolaryngoscopy), a small flexible telescope is used and passed through the nose and down the throat. This is the most common way to examine the larynx. The patient will be awake for the procedure and anesthesia will be sprayed into the nose. Typically this procedure takes less than a minute.

This test can help your doctor diagnose many conditions that involve the throat and larynx. Your doctor may recommend this test if you have:

• Bad breath that doesn't go away

• Breathing problems, such as noisy breathing (stridor)

• Chronic cough

• Expectoration with blood

• Dysphagia

• Ear pain that does not go away

• Feeling that something is stuck in the throat

• Prolonged upper respiratory tract problem in a smoker

• Mass in the head or neck area with signs of cancer

• Sore throat that won't go away

• Voice problems that last more than three weeks, such as hoarseness, weak voice, high-pitched voice, or hoarseness

NASOLARINGOSCOPIA
FRENILECTOMIA

Frenylectomy is a minor surgical procedure through which the frenulum that joins the tongue, lower lip and/or upper lip to the gum is removed, with the use of a scalpel or laser and prior placement of local anesthesia._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

Why is a Frenylectomy necessary?

The main reason for performing this intervention is the prevention of speech and eating problems, and the prevention of the separation of the front teeth during growth. Also, in the case of adult patients, to prevent them from interfering with the placement of the prosthesis because the mobility of the braces can cause it to dislodge. .

amigdalectomia

The tonsils help protect against infection. However, children with large tonsils may have trouble breathing at night. The tonsils can also trap excess bacteria, which can often lead to sore throats. In either case, the tonsils become more harmful than protective.

 consider tonsillectomy if:

  • Your child has frequent infections (7 or more times in 1 year, or 5 or more times each year for the last 2 years).

  • Your child misses a lot of school.

  • Your child is having trouble breathing and is not sleeping well because the tonsils are blocking the airway (sleep apnea).

  • Your child has an abscess or growth on the tonsils.

  • Your son presents frequent and annoying tonsilloliths.
